Saugatuck Michigan 12th Annual Waterfront Film Festival - Dont' Miss It!

12TH ANNUAL WATERFRONT FILM FESTIVAL-

Named as a top ten film festival in the US, this annual energetic celebration of film kicks off in downtown Saugatuck, featuring movie premieres, workshops, parties and a chance to mingle with Hollywood's movers and shakers.

The 12th annual Waterfront Film Festival June 10-13 in Saugatuck will include screenings of three made-in-Michigan movies, plus opportunities to discuss them with their creators.

Among the works are:
“Tug,” shot in Holland and starring Sam Huntington (who also appeared in “Superman”), Haylie Duff (“Napoleon Dynamite”) and Sarah Drew (TV’s Grey’s Anatomy)
“Cherry,” a coming-of-age tale shot primarily in Kalamazoo, starring Kyle Gallner (“Veronica Mars,” “Big Love,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street”) as well as “Life Unexpected’s” Brittany Robertson and Esai Morales.
“Annabelle & Bear,” a drama shot in 12 locations throughout southeast Michigan and featuring a 100-percent local cast, crew and soundtrack.

Casts and crews for all three films will be on hand for question-and-answer sessions following the screenings.
Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black will attend the festival, schedule permitting, for the screening of his documentary “8: A Mormon Proposition,” which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and for which he provides narration.
Film buffs are also invited to a gala screening and world premiere for the comedic coming-of-age drama “Norman,” which stars Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins (“The Visitor,” “Six Feet Under”), Dan Byrd (“Cougartown”), Emily Van Camp (“Brothers & Sisters”) and Adam Goldberg (“Dazed and Confused,” “Saving Private Ryan”).

The festival will wrap up Sunday, June 13, with the gala screening of “The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls,” a high-spirited, feel-good documentary about irrepressible New Zealand music-and-comedy act the Topp twins, featuring Jools and Lynda Tripp.

“Twins” won the Cadillac People’s Choice Award for Best Documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival.
