Our hot summer lineup kicks off with the sensational Grammy Award-winner Melissa Manchester, who brings her dynamic mix of pop hits and new classics to the “Starry Night” Performance Gala at the SCA!

An Evening with Melissa Manchester, benefiting Mason Street Warehouse’s professional theatrical productions at the SCA, begins at 6:00 pm with a cocktail reception in the SCA’s lobby, followed by Manchester’s performance at 8:00 pm in the Center’s intimate 400-seat theatre.

Gala tickets are $125 (includes reserved seats plus cocktails and heavy hors d’eouvres) or $195 for premier tickets which includes a reception with Ms. Manchester following the performance. Regular Gala tickets may be purchased online or by phone at 269.857.2399. Premier tickets must be purchased by phone.

Although most widely known as a pop recording artist, Melissa Manchester is also an accomplished musical theatre artist and has starred alongside Kelsey Grammer in the critically acclaimed Los Angeles production of Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece Sweeney Todd and in the world premiere of the musical Hats! in Chicago, for which she co-wrote several songs with Sarah Vaughn.

Her songs have been recorded by Barbra Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Alison Krauss, Roberta Flack, among many others. Her international hits "Through the Eyes of Love" and "Don't Cry Out Loud" were written for her by her friend and frequent collaborator Carole Bayer Sager, Marvin Hamlisch and the late Peter Allen.

Manchester was nominated for a Grammy in 1978 and 1979 and won a Grammy Award in 1982 for Best Female Vocalist.

Most recently, Manchester co-created and starred in the ballroom dance spectacular Fascinating Rhythms at the Rubicon Theatre, and her song “I Know Who I Am”, co-written with Joanna Cotten and Greg Barnhill, was recorded by Multi-Platinum artist Leona Lewis for the Tyler Perry feature film For Colored Girls.
