Rooted in New Wave and 1960’s rock in roll, the B-52s created their own “guy vs. gals” vocal trademark, highlighted with their hit, “Love Shack.” The band's name comes from a particular beehive hairdo that resembles the nose cone of the aircraft of the same name. The B-52s are an enthusiastic, slightly oddball party band, who tell tales that glorify wild youth and celebrate romance.
