The 26th annual Lawrence Ox Roast and Homecoming will be held Sept. 3-6, with a variety of activities planned throughout the three-day weekend, with most of those activities planned in the Lawrence Village Park. Some events may charge a nominal fee.
Events begin Friday, Sept. 3, with the Lawrence Lions Club sponsoring a Texas Hold'em. The group will also sponsor bingo in the village park all weekend.
Other events on Saturday include the 11th annual Lawrence Ox Roast and Homecoming Classic Car Show, and a Motorcycle Show, sponsored by 2 Orange Harleys, of Lawton. Many booths will be set up in the park throughout the weekend.
Also on tap for Saturday are garden tractor pulling contests, and a variety of musical groups throughout the weekend. Teen dances will also be held on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Sunday's events include a non-denominational Sunday morning service in the park, and a 5K walk, and 5K and 15K run. The Lawrence branch of the Van Buren District Library will hold a book sale on Monday, Labor Day, with a pre-sale on Sunday afternoon.
Monday, Labor Day, a parade and the handing out of free Ox Roast sandwiches, and music by the Green Valley Boys highlight the day's activities.
