St. Joseph, MI (August 4, 2012)---The Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents The Reel Score on Saturday, August 4, 2012, 7:30pm at Jean Klock Park.
Take a musical journey through the music behind the movies. Sit back and enjoy as our full symphonic orchestra serenades you with the best loved and most beautiful themes from hit movies of the last 30 years. The concert will feature music from Hollywood’s most popular film scores, including Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park, Jaws, and much more!
“If you think about the beginning of Forrest Gump and imagine how flat the opening sequence would be without the music, you will immediately appreciate the power and beauty of the music that has graced the best movies,” said Music Director Robin Fountain, “the Southwest Michigan is front and center as we present some of the most beautiful and evocative symphonic film music ever composed.”

Jurassic Park
Suite from Forrest Gump
Suite from Lord of the Rings
Tickets:
•Beach Pass: A $35, four (4) ticket package that’s good for any of our Beach Concerts events. Lawn seating only.
•Lawn Seating: Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Attendees bring their own chairs or blankets.
•Reserved Seating: A seat in a reserved seating area for $25.
•Reserved Tables: A reserved table with 10 tickets for $250.
Prices are increased by $5 the day of the concert.
Parking:
Parking at Jean Klock Park is $5 per car. Free parking for this concert will be available at the Whirlpool St. Joseph Technology Center parking lot - located at 303 Upton Drive in St. Joseph, MI - where patrons can park and catch a free shuttle bus to Jean Klock Park. The Whirlpool St. Joseph Technology Center parking lot will be open from 6:00pm – 7:30pm, with the shuttle bus service running during this time. The shuttle bus will run for 45 minutes after the end of the concert.
A beach menu provided by Classic Catering and ice cream by Water Street Gelatoworks will be available.

Now in it's 8th year, the Concours d'Elegance of Southwest Michigan (formerly the Krasl Concours) will featured 80 invited Brass Era, Classic, vintage, special-interest and muscle cars dating from the early 20th century up to 1977. Noted auto authority and the "Voice of Amelia Island" F. Edward Lucas II will again narrate the popular afternoon Pass in Review events. Featured vehicles in 2012 are Cars of Indiana. Authors Dennis and Terri Horvath will be on hand to autograph their book "Indiana Cars: A History of the Automobile in Indiana."
Of note: A rare GM Futurliner bus will be on display.

Sponsored by Festival Film Shorts, in partnership with Brookview School, suggested $1 donation per person. Showing at the Krasl Art Center at 11:00am and the St. Joseph Public Library at 1:00pm.

Welcome to a festival of Michigan wine, lively music, unique food and fun at the Silver Beach Shadowland Pavilion from 6:00pm - 10:00pm in St. Joseph-Sat August 27, 2011.
Participating local wineries include Tabor Hill Winery, White Pine Winery, Contessa Winery, Domaine Berrien and Lemon Creek Winery. Chateau Chantal Grand Traverse and Leelanau Cellars from northern Michigan will also be present. The Pump House and Cassava Latin Cuisine will feature a delicious tapas menu.
Music will showcase Marcus Robinson and his crew opening for The Big Payback from Madison Wisconsin! The Big Payback is a hard-hitting nine-piece band featuring a smoking four-man horn section and a soulful female vocalist. Exploring everything from funk-laden and worldbeat originals to soul and R&B b-sides, The Big Payback will leave the crowd as exhausted as the musicians themselves! Payback is a party you won't want to miss...
