The mainstage sizzles with sexy Cuban jazz as Tumbao Bravo returns. Mambo, cha-cha, rumba, bolero and more with this explosive, expressive 7-piece band.
Tumbao Bravo's first recording, Montuno Salad (2005), won the Detroit Music Award for the Jazz category. In 2007, Amigos-From Our Hands, won the Detroit Music Award in the World Music category. Their 2009 CD, Un Sistema Para Todo, was nominated in three different categories and was chosen as a soundtrack to an episode of the TV program, Burn Notice.
Tumbao Bravo has performed at all the major jazz festivals in Michigan including Detroit International Jazz Festival, Ann Arbor Jazz Festival, Lansing Jazz Festival, Sterlingfest, and Michigan Jazz Fest.
